About the author

The Man Behind the Story

Rasoul Sadeghi Hardangi was born and raised in Iran, where an early fascination with computers became a quiet window onto the rest of the world. Long before he understood what leaving would cost, he knew that he wanted a different future.

That search took him first to London, where he lived and worked and learned what it feels like to build a life in a city that does not yet know your name. In 2012 it carried him to the United States — and into nine months of immigration detention.
